Our homes should always showcase our personalities and experiences. How do we accomplish that? I feel that is a question that a lot of us have. I certainly had when my partner and I acquired a home 5 years ago. It can be intimidating if you overthink it.
Growing up in Puerto Rico I was so used to seeing a collection of party favors used as decoration on every home I visited. My grandmother used to display all the figurines and pictures from all the quinceañeras we attended. For me, it was common to see in all the homes, but does this actually show the homeowner's personality?
Do I want to showcase items that really don't mean that much to me? Absolutely, no! Not to offend the events I have attended, but all those party favors should be kept, only if they mean something to us. Maybe store them in a memorabilia box?
Coffee tables are the centerpiece of our living room. This table is a pivotal location to place items that really mean something to us. That showcase our experiences and who we are.

A coffee table book, meaning a large-scale and good-looking book. It shows a bit of intellectuality but also showcases your interest in spike conversation. Maybe you are into fashion, gardening, or home decor. This will let your guest know your interest and it can generate a great conversation.
Candles
Who doesn't love a candle? The scent of this candle will set the mood of the room. Are you feeling fresh? Then Fresh Linen might be your scent of the day. The candle size will determine if the entire room will smell or not. Make sure to go for candles that have more than 2 wicks.

Flowers
Every table need a bit of nature. A beautiful orchid can bring elegance to any room. Especially a white flower orchid. We all know these plants are not easy to take, so maybe you would like to get some fresh flowers from the store. Make sure the flower vase is in rhythm with the flower. You do not want your vase to take center stage. I like dry Hydrangeas - they last longer.
